Georgian Foreign Ministry confirms postponement of UN secretary-general's visit to Tbilisi

TBILISI. April 21 (Interfax) - The Georgian Foreign Ministry confirms that UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's planned visit to Tbilisi has been postponed.

"Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's visit has been postponed," the Foreign Ministry told journalists.

"The Georgian permanent representative to the UN will have a meeting at the secretary-general's office on this account on Thursday, and more details will be clear after that," it said.

The UN secretary-general's press office had reported earlier that Ban's visit to the South Caucasus countries had been postponed.

It was reported on Wednesday, that Ban was to visit Tbilisi on April 23, after which he was supposed to go to Yerevan, and then to Baku.
