VEB considering entry onto domestic bond market in 2016
MOSCOW. April 22 (Interfax) - Vnesheconombank (VEB) is considering the possibility of entering the domestic bond market this year, VEB first deputy CEO and management member Nikolai Tsekhomsky said at a press conference on Friday.
"We are seriously considering the bond market. We think that bonds are a possible source [of liquidity] this year," he said noting that "the market is thawing."
VEB also wants to raise funds of its clients [which VEB lent to], including in forex, which the bank needs for servicing foreign debt, Tsekhomsky said. There are some restrictions, and VEB is now discussing the possibility of lifting them with authorities.
