Russia proposes that Kuwait participate in implementation of projects in Far East

MOSCOW. April 22 (Interfax) - Russia suggested that Kuwait participate in the implementation of projects in the Far East, in priority development areas and in the Free Port of Vladivostok, Far East Development Minister Alexander Galushka said at a meeting of the intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation of Russia and Kuwait.

"This project is being implemented in accordance with the order of Russian President Vladimir Putin and is of great importance, both for the development of the Russian Far East and for the Russian Federation in general. We will be glad, if Kuwaiti investors are interested in participating in the realization of such projects," he said.

"JSC Far East and Baikal Region Development Fund may provide substantial support to the development of investment cooperation between the regions of the Russian Far East and the state of Kuwait. This organization has a lot of experience in implementing investment projects in the Far East region of Russia," the minister said.

"We consider it expedient on the basis of the Fund to consider the possibility of creating a joint institute with Kuwait (the form may be determined later), the main task of which would be to jointly finance investment projects on the territory of the Russian Far East, the provision of aid to Kuwaiti investors in the implementation of investment projects," Galushka said.
