Top local police officer blames robbery attack for murder of policeman and his relatives in Samara region

SAMARA. April 26 (Interfax) - Police officer Andrei Gosht and his relatives were most likely killed as a result of a robbery attack, deputy chief of the Russian Interior Ministry's Samara region branch Andrei Konovalov has said.

"My personal theory is that it was an attack by robbers seeking money and property," Konovalov told reporters in Syzran on Tuesday.

Konovalov said that he was speaking about a robbery attack. However, he declined to say whether or not any items had disappeared from the Gosht family's house, adding that this question should be referred to investigators.
