Paris sees no need to change 'Normandy format' by including U.S. in it - French ambassador to Russia
MOSCOW. April 26 (Interfax) - Paris does not consider it to be reasonable to include the United States in the 'Normandy format' for Ukraine.
"We see no need to change the Normandy format," French Ambassador to Russia Jean-Maurice Ripert said in an interview with Interfax after being asked whether it would be reasonable to add Washington to the 'Normandy Four', which includes France, Russia, Germany and Ukraine.
The French side "is closely coordinating its work with the Americans" as part of the 'Normandy format', he said.
"We have been regularly exchanging opinions," the diplomat said, positively assessing the relevant contacts between Russia and the U.S.
"We want the Normandy format to adopt precise decisions like judges. But it is difficult to achieve this," the French ambassador added.
