Dollar, euro extend gains against ruble on lower oil
MOSCOW. April 27 (Interfax) - The dollar and euro are extending their gains against the ruble in evening trading on the Moscow Exchange as oil prices fall following the release of data about U.S. crude stocks.
The dollar was up 44.5 kopecks to 65.645 rubles/$1 by 7:00 p.m., and the euro was up 66.5 kopecks to 74.315 rubles/EUR1. The bi-currency basket ($0.55 and EUR0.45) rose 54.4 kopecks to 69.547 rubles.
As the result of this morning's index session, the Central Bank lowered its official dollar rate for Thursday by 129.41 kopecks to 65.1618 rubles/$1 and lowered its euro rate by 110.01 kopecks to 73.8023 rubles/EUR1.
The dollar averaged down 118 kopecks to 65.1993 rubles/$1 in Today deals on the Moscow Exchange and, by 7:00 p.m., was down 86 kopecks to 65.3683 rubles/$1 in Tom deals. Overall trading volume was $5.298 billion, of which $1.388 billion Today and $3.91 billion Tom.
The euro averaged down 116 kopecks in Today deals to 73.7623 rubles/EUR1 and was down 89 kopecks in Tom deals to 73.9401 rubles/EUR1 in volume of EUR674.955 million, of which EUR348.704 million Today and EUR326.251 million Tom.
The MosPrime rate for overnight loans was unchanged at 11.03% p.a.
