Eurasian terror threat cannot be averted without Russia - German expert
MOSCOW. April 27 (Interfax-AVN) - The fight against international terrorism is not possible without Russia's participation, said August Hanning, a former head of the German Federal Intelligence Service, during his speech at an international security conference in Moscow on Wednesday.
"It is necessary to focus on the threats existing in the south of the continent - terrorism and others. Only with Russia can we respond to these threats," Hanning said.
He stressed the need for mutual trust.
"There were doubtless some steps in the past. There was cooperation in crisis regions. A big problem is the fate of migrants and refugees. If we talk about five million refugees, this is a very serious problem. It can only be resolved through international cooperation," Hanning said.
