Explosives and weapons confiscated from native of Central Asia in Moscow - source
MOSCOW. May 3 (Interfax) - Explosives and weapons have been confiscated in the east and the southwest of Moscow, a source in law enforcement agencies told Interfax on Tuesday.
According to the source, officers of special services detained a native of Central Asia on Shchyolkovskoye Highway, in eastern Moscow, at around 3:00 p.m. on May 2. The man put up active resistance and was wounded twice in the leg. He was hospitalized.
Two Kalashnikov assault rifles were found during an examination of the incident site, the source said.
As a follow-up to those events, seven TNT blocks, a package of plastic explosives, a grenade launcher, two grenades and another two Kalashnikov assault rifles were confiscated by special service officers from an apartment on Novoyasenevsky Avenue, in southwestern Moscow, at around 8:00 p.m., he said.
Interfax has so far been unable to obtain official confirmation of the report.
