Russia's Navy permanent task force in Mediterranean Sea comprises over 10 warships, vessels - Defense Ministry
MOSCOW. May 5 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Black Sea Fleet patrol vessel Ladny has set out from Sevastopol on a far voyage on Thursday, Black Sea Fleet spokesman Captain First Rank Vyacheslav Trukhachyov told Interfax-AVN.
"The ship crew on the basis of a scheduled rotation is due to perform the tasks as part of the Russian Navy's permanent task force in the Mediterranean Sea, which now includes over 10 warships and support vessels of the Black Sea, Pacific and Northern Fleets," he said.
The Pacific Fleet's guard missile cruiser Varyag leads the Russian Navy permanent task force in the Mediterranean Sea.
In particular, the task force includes the large landing ships Saratov, Tsezar Kunikov, the small missile ship Serpukhov, which carries cruise missiles Kalibr-NK and support vessels.
