Russian deputy foreign minister, Syrian ambassador discuss counterterrorism, Geneva talks

MOSCOW. May 5 (Interfax) -Mikhail Bogdanov, Russian deputy foreign minister and special presidential envoy on the Middle East and the African countries, and Syrian Ambassador to Moscow Riyad Haddad have met to discuss the settlement of the Syrian crisis and the fight against terrorism.

"The meeting addressed issues relating to the development of the situation in Syria, including the fight against terrorism, and also issues relating to the political settlement of the Syrian crisis with regard for the next round of the intra-Syrian negotiations under the aegis of the UN, which has ended in Geneva," a report posted on the Russian Foreign Ministry website says.
