Naryshkin: Promotion of new information technologies relying on younger generation in Russia, China is future-oriented

SHENZHEN. May 6 (Interfax) - The joint promotion of information technologies will foster cooperation between Russia and China, State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin said at a ceremony of signing a cooperation memorandum between Moscow State University and Huawei Corporation in Shenzhen.

"I have no doubt that the promotion of new information technologies, relying on the younger generation and education, will foster interaction, cooperation between our countries, as this cooperation is future-oriented," Naryshkin said.

He also hopes that the memorandum between Moscow State University and Huawei Corporation would contribute to the development of a joint university, the first stone in the main building of which has been laid in Shenzhen.

Moscow State University Rector Viktor Sadovnichy and Huawei Enterprise Marketing and Solutions Department President Yuan Qian signed the memorandum on joint research to be conducted by Moscow State University and Huawei.

The sides agreed to cooperate "in the planning and implementation of joint research and development programs by employees of Moscow State University and Huawei."

The sides will engage in joint education projects and create a strategy for the development of modern information and communication structure.

The signatories pledged to work out a strategy for the creation of highly efficient computation platforms for Moscow State University. The memorandum binds Huawei to provide a technical solution for launching a dedicated access line for Chinese schoolchildren and students to education portals of Moscow State University and the joint university of Moscow State University and Beijing Institute of Technology in Shenzhen.

The sides undertake not to disclose information they learn in the course of activity conducted under the memorandum.

The memorandum is valid for five years.
