Maria Gaidar stops being acting deputy head of Odesa regional administration on May 1 - Gaidar's aide
ODESA. May 10 (Interfax) - Acting deputy head of the Odesa regional administration Maria Gaidar has left that position and has become an advisor to regional administration head Mikheil Saakashvili.
Gaidar's aide Viktoria Sibir explained to Interfax that Gaidar did not tender her resignation but automatically left that position after a new civil service law took effect on May 1.
It became known in July 2015 that Gaidar would be working for the Saakashvili team. She became a Ukrainian citizen in August and said that she intended to abandon her Russian citizenship. The Russian media said, however, that Gaidar never launched the procedure of rejecting her naturalization. Gaidar became a deputy of the Odesa Regional Council from the Solidarity Party in October 2015.
Gaidar was appointed an acting deputy head of the Odesa regional administration in January 2016. In the capacity of an advisor to the administration head, she supervised social issues - healthcare, liaison with citizens, and other areas.
