Russian, Egyptian foreign ministers come to terms on Syria truce, anti-terrorism fight
MOSCOW. May 11 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Shoukry, have discussed on the phone the need to comply with the regime of the cessation of hostilities in Syria and the continuous fight against ISIL and Jabhat al-Nusra (terrorist organizations banned in Russia).
"The conversation focused on topical aspects of the Syria settlement. The sides expressed identical views on the importance of carrying on the uncompromising struggle against ISIL and Jabhat al-Nusra and the need for strict compliance with the regime of the cessation of hostilities in the Syrian Arab Republic, confirmed in the joint Russian-U.S. statement on Syria on May 9, 2016," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a report published on its website on Wednesday.
The telephone conversation took place on May 10, the report said.
