Russia had budget deficit of 1.231 trln rubles in 4M - Treasury

MOSCOW. May 12 (Interfax) - Russia had a federal budget deficit of 1.231 trillion rubles in January-April 2016, the Treasury said in a report.

Budget revenue totaled 3.908 trillion rubles and spending amounted to 5.139 trillion rubles, according to Treasury estimates.

Spending on social policy for January-April amounted to 1.661 trillion rubles, spending on national defense - 1.222 trillion rubles and another 541.79 billion rubles was spent on national security and law enforcement activity.

Interbudgetary transfers totaled 229.175 billion rubles.

Spending on education totaled 232.28 billion rubles, on healthcare - 141.628 billion rubles, and on the national economy - 447.408 billion rubles.

Debt servicing amounted to 236 billion rubles.

Russia's federal budget deficit in January-March was 712.9 billion rubles or 3.7% of GDP.
