PM calls on tax service to keep up earlier set parameters for collecting MET, despite fall in oil prices

GORKI. May 17 (Interfax) - The decline of mineral extraction tax (MET) collection is an objective factor, however in this area all the same it is necessary to try to support the positions that were set earlier, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said.

"As concerns not fulfilling a part of the revenue for one of the taxes - MET, then this factor, of course doesn't depend on us. This is an objective fact, it is connected with the current price of oil, and with account of the certain correlations with gas prices," Medvedev said at a meeting with Federal Tax Service head Mikhail Mishustin.

"Nevertheless, all the same it is necessary to strive for and here observe all the positions, which we marked for ourselves, keeping in mind, incidentally, that prices [for hydrocarbons] are not stable in this sense," Medvedev said.
