Russian representative should certainly participate in Eurovision 2017 - Matviyenko

MOSCOW. May 18 (Interfax) - Russia must participate in the next Eurovision song contest which will take place in Kyiv, Federation Council Chairperson Valentina Matviyenko has said.

"We certainly should participate," Matviyenko told reporters, answering a relevant question.

"I believe we must not assume any attitude. We should not discuss whether we have to participate or not. This is what makes the issue political," she said.
