PACE president: Russia should actively participate in PACE events
ST. PETERSBURG. May 19 (Interfax) - Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) President Pedro Agramunt considers Russia to be a very important PACE member.
During a meeting with Russian State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin, and Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko on the sidelines of the CIS Parliamentary Assembly on Thursday, Agramunt said he personally believes that Russia is a very important member of PACE and it should take an active part in all events.
This meeting is the first personal contact between Agramunt and the heads of the chambers of the Russian parliament.
