Russian, Chinese foreign ministers discuss preparations for SCO summit

TASHKENT. May 24 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi are expected to discuss preparations for the visit of the Russian president to China and for the upcoming SCO summit in Tashkent at a meeting on Tuesday.

"Today there is a good opportunity to discuss ways in order to duly prepare for the Tashkent summit of the SCO, as well as for the state visit of President Putin to China," Wang said opening a meeting with Lavrov.

In turn, Lavrov noted that Moscow considers "cooperation with China as a key foreign political priority of our country."

Lavrov and Wang met on the sidelines of a meeting of SCO Council of Foreign Ministers in Tashkent.
