Militiaman wounded during evacuation of bodies of servicemen killed on Thursday - DPR
YASYNUVATA (Donetsk region). May 27 (Interfax) - A Ukrainian sniper wounded a militiaman as the bodies of servicemen killed near Avdiivka on Thursday were evacuated, a representative of the armed forces command of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) said.
"A squadron commander from the evacuation group approached the site where the dead bodies were lying. A sniper fired at him. He [the commander] sustained a bullet wound to his chest and arm. He is being evacuated," the command representative told OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) Principal Deputy Chief Monitor Alexander Hug.
He invited Hug to visit the evacuation site now, and Hug agreed.
Hug said that his team would visit this place.
It was reported that Hug had arrived in the village of Yasynuvata on Friday to assess the security situation.
The DPR command earlier asked the OSCE SMM principal deputy chief monitor to assist with the evacuation of the bodies of militiamen killed as a result of the strike.
