Number of Syrian populated areas that have joined ceasefire increased to 125 - Russian Defense Ministry
MOSCOW. May 29 (Interfax) - The number of Syrian populated areas that have joined the ceasefire regime has reached 125, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"Ceasefire agreements were signed with representatives of three populated areas in the Aleppo province in within 24 hours. The number of populated areas that have joined the ceasefire process has reached 125," the bulletin of the Russian center for reconciliation of the parties in conflict on the territory of Syria said.
The document said that negotiations on joining the ceasefire regime continued with the field commanders of armed opposition units in the provinces Homs and Damascus.
"The number of armed units that have stated their commitment to accept and fulfill the ceasefire conditions has stayed unchanged, 60," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
