Kyiv says Europe misunderstands scale of migration due to Donbas hostilities in Ukraine

MOSCOW. June 2 (Interfax) - Europe misunderstands the scale of internal migration in Ukraine due to the hostilities in Donbas, Sergiy Kyslytsya, Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister, said.

"Unfortunately, Europe today does not understand fully and clearly - Europe which faced the migration crisis when it had to accept about a million migrants. [...] And it was rich [Europe] which barely managed a million refugees, and not so rich Ukraine must [manage] 1.7 million internally displaced persons," Kyslytsya said at the meeting of the steering committee of the EU 2015-2017 Action Plan for Ukraine.
