Militants in Aleppo take advantage of cessation to regroup, replenish arsenals - Russian reconciliation center in Syria

HMEIMIM AIRBASE, Syria. June 4 (Interfax) - Militants from the terrorist organizations Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIL (banned in Russia) acting in the Aleppo area in Syria have taken advantage of the cessation of hostilities declared in May to regroup their forces and replenish arsenals, a spokesperson from the Russian center for the reconciliation of the opposing sides in Syria told journalists on Saturday.

"Taking advantage of the cessation of hostilities and the fact that units of this terrorist organization are staying in the same districts as units of the so-called moderate opposition, which the Russian Aerospace Forces and the Syrian Air Force are not striking, Jabhat al-Nusra has regrouped its forces, replenished its stocks of weapons and munitions, and started acting. The terrorist groups are not experiencing any shortage in munitions and weapons," he said.
