Kyiv says one Ukrainian soldier killed, nine injured in Donbas in past 24 hours

KYIV. June 7 (Interfax) - One Ukrainian serviceman has been killed and another nine have been injured in the area of Kyiv's army operation in Donbas in past 24 hours, the Ukrainian presidential administration's spokesman for the operation Andriy Lysenko said.

"One Ukrainian soldier has been killed and another nine have been injured as a result of fighting in the past 24 hours," he told a press briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.

One serviceman was killed and another one was injured near the village of Pishchevik, another three servicemen were injured in Novotroitske, two near the Putilovska mine, two near Avdiivka, and one in Mayorsk, Lysenko said.

The village of Sokolniki, located in the Novoaidar district of the Luhansk region, has come under fire in the past 24 hours.

The situation in the Donetsk region remains unchanged, Lysenko said. Shootouts have occurred along the entire contact line in the past 24 hours. More than 150 mines of different calibers were fired at Ukrainian military positions.

An artillery strike was recorded near the village of Bohdanivka near the city of Mariupol, he said. Shelling was also reported in Maryinka, Shyrokyne, Dokuchayevsk and Pavlopil. A total of 17 strikes have been recorded near Mariupol in the past 24 hours.
