Evraz NMTP boosts handling 16% in 5M
VLADIVOSTOK. June 7 (Interfax) - OJSC Evraz NMTP (Nakhodka Trade Sea Port) , the largest stevedoring company at the port of Nakhodka, increased cargo handling 15.8% year-on-year in January-May 2016 to 4.4 million tonnes, the stevedore's press service said.
In particular, in May the port handled 930,000 tonnes of cargo, up 40% from a year earlier.
The statement said that the increase in cargo turnover was a result of the improvement of cargo logistics. The main part of cargo is coal and metallurgical products of Evraz.
It was reported earlier that Evraz NMTP saw cargo handling fall 0.8% in 2015 to 9.238 million tonnes.
Evraz NMTP has 15 bulk berths and 1 auxiliary berth for the port's own fleet with a total berth length of 3.5 km. The port has a daily capacity to unload up to 500 railcars containing various cargoes. In addition, 300,000 square meters of warehousing premises are located at the port.
Evraz NMTP is owned by Sibmetinvest LLC, a Evraz SPV.
