About 10,000 people coming from CSTO countries fighting in Syria - CSTO Secretary General Bordyuzha

YEREVAN. June 7 (Interfax) - About 10,000 people coming from Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) countries are fighting in Syria, CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha told journalists in Yerevan on Tuesday.

"On the whole, we talk roughly about 10,000. There is precise country-wise information. We know how many [of these people] come from Russia and how many to a man from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Special services keep these lists and identify those traveling abroad," Bordyuzha said in reply to a question from Interfax.

The CSTO member-nations are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.

Bordyuzha is in Yerevan for a meeting of secretaries of Security Councils of CSTO countries. The Russian delegation to the meeting is led by Security Council secretary Nikolai Patrushev.
