Russian Strategic Missile Forces rearming seven missile divisions

MOSCOW. June 10 (Interfax-AVN) - The scheduled rearming of the Russian Strategic Missile Forces with brand-new silo-based and road-mobile missile complexes is underway, a representative of the Russian Defense Ministry's press service and information department told Interfax-AVN on Friday after a meeting of the Russian Strategic Missile Forces' Military Board.

"Seven formations of the Russian Strategic Missile Forces are being rearmed," the department quoted Russian Strategic Missile Forces Deputy Commander for Armaments Maj. Gen. Sergei Poroskun as saying.

"The rearming of the road-mobile group of the Russian Strategic Missile Forces, the planned replacement of the Topol road-mobile missile complexes with Yars systems, has been particularly intensive," the report said.

New silo-based and road-mobile missile complexes are improving technological infrastructures of the Russian Strategic Missile Forces, Forces Commander Col. Gen. Sergei Karakayev said.

"The Russian Strategic Missile Forces are being rearmed on schedule," the report said.
