USDA keeps forecast for Kazakh wheat production and exports unchanged

ASTANA. June 14 (Interfax) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) kept unchanged its forecast for Kazakhstan's wheat production at 13 million tonnes for the next marketing year (July 2016 - June 2017), according to a USDA June report.

The outlook of Kazakh wheat exports also remained unchanged at 7 million tonnes.

The projections of wheat imports were lowered 16.7% to 50,000 tonnes.

In the marketing year of 2015-2016 Kazakhstan planned to export 8 million tonnes of grain. Last marketing year, the republic exported over 6.6 million tonnes of grain.

In 2015 Kazakhstan produced 18.7 million tonnes of grain and legume in clean weight or an increase of 8.8% from a year earlier.
