Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier to go to Barents Sea soon - Northern Fleet
MOSCOW. June 15 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia's only aircraft carrier, the heavy aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov, has passed the first stage of restoration of its technical preparedness and has dropped the anchor in the roadsteads in the Kola Bay; once its stock is replenished, the aircraft carrier will go to the Barents Sea, Northern Fleet spokesman Capt. 1st Rank Vadim Serga told Interfax.
"In the upcoming period the aircraft carrier crew will check mechanisms and hardware repaired during the planned restoration of technical preparedness," Serga said, adding that the repairs were done by a branch of the 35th ship repairing plan of the Zvezdochka center.
"During the anchorage period, the crew will prepare for departure to training ranges and will check the readiness of weapons and ship systems for marine operations," the Northern Fleet spokesman said.
"The ship anchored in the North Sea roadstead will replenish its stock to normal and will go to the Barents Sea for routine combat practice," Serga said.
