Rosneft preparing number of new projects for cooperation with BP
ST. PETERSBURG. June 15 (Interfax) - Rosneft is preparing a number of new projects for cooperation with BP, which is a Rosneft shareholder and has joined a number of its production projects, Rosneft chief Igor Sechin said during the annual shareholders' meeting.
"We are preparing a number of projects for cooperation with BP, I think that we will speak about them in the near future," he said.
Sechin said previously that Rosneft and BP were discussing the possibility of cooperation in the Khatanga area. Rosnedra awarded Rosneft rights to the Khatanga section of the strategic deposit located in the Gulf of Khatanga and the continental shelf in the Laptev Sea at the end of 2015.
The forecast D2 resource in the 17,218-square-kilometer Khatanga section amounts to 288.2 million tonnes of geological oil reserves (82.8 million tonnes of recoverable reserves), 228.2 billion cubic meters of gas and 20.8 million tonnes of condensate (13.6 million tonnes).
