Russian Fans Association head Shprygin detained at Toulouse stadium - Russian Embassy spokesman

MOSCOW/PARIS. June 21 (Interfax) - The head of the Russian Fans Association, Alexander Shprygin, has been detained at the stadium in Toulouse and will be expelled from France on Tuesday, Russian Embassy in Paris spokesman Sergei Parinov told Interfax.

"He was detained at the stadium as a ban on his presence on the territory of France entered into force today," he said.

"As soon as he started to write tweets saying that he was at the stadium, he was immediately tracked down and detained at the stadium in order to probably expel him from France tomorrow [on Tuesday]," Parinov said.

The Russian Consulate General in Marseille is following the situation concerning Shprygin's detention, the diplomat said.

However, "France, as a sovereign state, has a right to inform any foreigners that their presence on its territory is undesirable," he said.
