Milk production at Russian farms up 2.8% in 5M - AgMin

MOSCOW. June 21 (Interfax) - Russian agricultural organizations produced 6.277 million tonnes of milk in 5M 2016, 2.8% more year-on-year, the Russian Agriculture Minister said.

The largest increase in production took place in the Voronezh region (by 15%), the Krasnodar territory (5.8%), Tatarstan (4%), Udmurtia (5.4%), Bashkortostan (5.8%) and the Kirov region (5%).

A reduction in milk production was observed in the Omsk, Penza, Orenburg regions and in Kabardino-Balkaria.

For the 5M milk production per cow amounted to 2,485 kilograms, which is 117 kilograms (4.9%) more than in the same period of 2015.
