Russian deputy foreign minister, Iraqi ambassador discuss fight against ISIL for Fallujah
MOSCOW. June 22 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov discussed the fight against ISIL (a terrorist organization banned in Russia) with Iraqi Ambassador in Moscow Ismieal Shafiq Muhsin.
The two diplomats exchanged opinions on the developments in Iraq, with an emphasis placed on an operation conducted by this country's armed forces to free the city of Fallujah and other Iraqi populated areas from militants of the terrorist organization Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
Bogdanov and Muhsin also touched upon a number of relevant issues pertaining to Russian-Iraqi multifaceted cooperation, it said.
