Putin proposes to increase Russian electric energy supply to Mongolia

TASHKENT. June 23 (Interfax) - Russian power plants are ready to increase the electric energy supply to Mongolia for the purposes of settling the country's energy shortage problem, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

During the trilateral meeting with Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj and Chinese President Xi Jinping, Putin said that "the energy shortage in Mongolia is a serious issue, we understand that, and this problem needs to be settled."

"Russian power plants could increase the supply of energy they generate to the northern regions of Mongolia," he said.
