Moscow discusses Middle East situation with one of leaders of Palestine Liberation Popular Front
MOSCOW. June 23 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov discussed the prospects of peaceful settlement in the Middle East at a meeting with Deputy Secretary General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine Abu Ahmad Fuad, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"At the talks the parties exchanged opinions in detail on the situation emerging on the Palestinian territories, the problems of restoring Palestine's national unity and the prospects to promote Palestinian-Israeli settlement," the ministry said in a statement published on its website on Thursday.
"The situation in the region of the Middle East and North Africa was also generally discussed with the emphasis on developments in Syria and around it," the ministry also said.
Member of the Political Bureau of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine Maher Taher also attended the meeting.
