Russian Navy to hold over 40 tactical exercises before end of 2016 - chief commander
ST. PETERSBURG. June 26 (Interfax) - Russian ships and submarines will take part in more than 40 tactical exercises, including international ones, before the end of 2016, Russian Navy Commander-in-chief Admiral Vladimir Korolyov said.
"Before the end of the year our ships and submarines will participate in over 40 tactical exercises with various tactical groups and groupings of all kinds of the naval forces," Korolyov said at an award ceremony for the top graduates of the Admiral Makarov State Maritime Academy on Saturday.
Among the planned joint drills are "Naval Interaction-2016" with China, "Friendship Bridge" with Egypt and "Indra-2016" with India.
Also this year the best ships and units of the Coastal Troops will compete against their international counterparts in the international exercises Sea Cup-2016, Amphibious Assault-2016 and Depth-2016.
