Russia, Portugal agree to boost agriculture exports
LISBON. June 29 (Interfax) - Russia and Portugal will increase exports of agricultural products, Russian Emergency Situations Minister Vladimir Puchkov said, representing the Russian side in an intergovernmental commission in Lisbon.
"We will increase exports: grain supplies from Russia to Portugal and exports of Portuguese products to Russia," he said.
Portuguese Economic Minister Manuel Caldeira Cabral said his country wants to begin exporting meat, milk and fruits as soon as possible.
Puchkov assured his counterpart that exports would resume as soon as the current difficulties in relations with the European Union were overcome.
In addition, Puchkov said that Portugal's traditional products, such as wine and cork, remain an important area of exports.
