President has not signed any decrees on Astakhov resignation, he continues working - Peskov
MOSCOW. July 1 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has not signed any decrees on the resignation of children's rights ombudsman Pavel Astakhov, presidential press officer Dmitry Peskov said.
"The president has not signed any decrees yet, I don't know who has filed any resignations and whether they have been filed at all. The only thing I can say now is that Astakhov continues working," Peskov told reporters.
Peskov said that, if the president signs a decree dismissing Astakhov, it means "he will be dismissed," but "it has not happened yet."
Peskov responded to a question as to whether there is a debate going on regarding candidates for Astakhov's position and whether there are any candidates to the post.
"No," Peskov said.
