Two children killed playing with grenade in Donbas
DONETSK. July 5 (Interfax) - Two children were killed and another one suffered injuries from negligent handling of an explosive device in the militia-held city of Yenakiieve in Ukraine's Donetsk region.
"Two children were killed and another one (currently in a serious condition) and one adult were injured in Yenakiieve yesterday in an attempt to disassemble a grenade," Eduard Basurin, a senior officer of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Defense Ministry, told the press on Tuesday.
He said the oldest child was 11 and the youngest was 2.
Given the accident, Basurin asked local residents "not to touch explosive devices but to call the Emergency Situations Ministry or the military to defuse them."
