Norway returns almost 1 bln rubles in taxes to Rosneft for exploration on shelf

MOSCOW. July 6 (Interfax) - Rosneft received a return on taxes in the amount of 915 million rubles from Norway, the company said in a report on payments in favor of states.

A Rosneft representative told Interfax that in accordance with tax law in Norway, companies carrying out activity on the Norwegian continental shelf are compensated for 78% of expenditures on geological exploration work.

The sum of return, reflected in the report from June 30, 2016, was received in 2015 and corresponds to 78% of spending by RN Nordic on geological exploration work on the territory of Norway in 2014, the source said.

The oil company said that Rosneft is still interested the PL713 license and discovered reserves on the Pingvin section. "The company is continuing to cooperate with its partners and the operator of the project, Statoil, which is aimed at ascertaining future options for work in the framework of the license," the Rosneft representative said.
