DPR reports over 100 shells fired in Ukrainian mortar attack

DONETSK. July 7 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian army fired 105 shells on the territory of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) on Wednesday evening and during the night, the Donetsk news agency said on Thursday, referring to a source from the DPR law enforcement and defense authorities.

"As many as 105 82mm and 120mm shells were fired from positions of the hostiles," he said.

According to the source, the vicinity of the Volvo Center, the populated localities of Spartak and Trudovske, the Shyroka Balka and Zaitseve communities near Horlivka, Vasylivka and the suburbs of Yasynuvata, as well as the villages of Novolaspa, Bila Kamyanka, Kominternove and Sakhanka, came under attack.

In addition to mortars, the Ukrainian army was using grenade launchers and infantry combat vehicle weapons, the source told the Donetsk news agency. Information about possible damage is being verified.
