Turkish foreign minister grateful to Aliyev for helping normalize relations with Russia

BAKU. July 15 (Interfax) - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Friday, a report posted on the Azerbaijani presidential website said.

Aliyev cited strengthening of Azerbaijani-Turkish relations in all areas at the meeting.

Joint projects initiated by Baku and Ankara are being implemented on time and will bolster bilateral relations even further, the president said.

Cavusoglu thanked the Azerbaijani president for his strong support to normalization of Turkish-Russian relations.

He also noted that Azerbaijani-Turkish relations had intensified over the past year.

Cavusoglu came to Baku on Thursday for a two-day visit at the invitation of the Azerbaijani foreign minister.

"During this visit, the minister will have a detailed conversation on regional and global affairs, including bilateral cooperation and the situation around settling of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict with his Azerbaijani colleague," the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a report.
