SCAC, Mexican Interjet to create JV for SSJ100 sales in Americas

VENICE. July 15 (Interfax) - Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) and Mexican airline Interjet plan to form a joint venture at the end of fall 2016 to promote the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) and provide after-sales service in North and South America, SCAC President Ilya Tarasenko told journalists on Friday.

"We are in negotiations. I think by the end of fall documents will be signed that address creation of a company," Tarasenko said.

SCAC is in talks on delivery of SSJ100s to other Latin American countries.

It was reported earlier that SCAC and Interjet signed a memorandum on creation of a center for servicing the SSJ100 on markets in North and South America.

Interjet is the first carried based abroad to operate the SSJ100. It currently has 22 of the planes in its fleet. A total of 30 SSJ100 are to be delivered under the existing contract.
