LPR reports 5 attacks on militia positions in past 24 hours
LUHANSK. July 19 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian army conducted five attacks on the positions of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) militia in the past 24 hours, the Luhansk information center said with the reference to the LPR defense agency.
"The Kyiv military shelled positions of the LPR militia five times over the past day, including by use of weapons compelled to be withdrawn from the contact line in accordance with the Minsk agreements," a representative of the LPR defense agency said.
In his words, 82mm mortars and AGS automatic mounted grenade launchers shelled the Stanitsa Luhanska area, while 120mm mortars bombarded the village of Lohvynove.
"There are no casualties," the militia said.
In turn, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) observed 379 mortar mines fired on its territory last night.
"In all, 379 82mm and 120mm mines and nine tank shots were fired on DPR frontline zones on in the evening and during the night," the Donetsk news agency said with the reference to a source from security agencies.
Attacks were observed in the town of Staromykhailivka, Zaitseve and Kruta Balka near Horlivka, Trudovske in the west of Donetsk, the villages of Vasylivka, Vesele and Zhabycheve in the Yasynuvata district, the industrial zone in a suburb of Yasynuvata, Dokuchayevsk and the village of Sakhanka in the south of the republic, he said.
The Ukrainian army used 122mm artillery, tanks and mortars, the security agencies reported.
