Lavrov, Kerry discuss Russia's, U.S.'s concrete steps on Syria in context of Moscow agreements
MOSCOW. July 19 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and United States Secretary of State John Kerry discussed concrete steps on the resolution of the conflict in Syria and the suppression of the terrorist groups, the Russian Foreign Ministry website said in a statement published on Tuesday.
"The interlocutors discussed Russia's and U.S.'s concrete steps, which are aimed to facilitate the settlement of the conflict in Syria and to curb the terrorist groups acting there in order to develop the agreements, which had been reached during the latest visit by the secretary of state in Moscow," the ministry said.
The U.S. initiated the conversation, the ministry said.
As was reported, following Kerry's visit to Moscow on July 14-15 Lavrov said that Russia and the U.S. have a common understanding what needs to be done to intensify the Syria settlement and eliminate the terrorists acting in that country.
