Listing of Ahrar al-Sham, Jaysh al-Islam groups as terrorist ones not discussed during Kerry's visit to Moscow - Russian Foreign Ministry source
MOSCOW. July 20 (Interfax) - The listing of the Ahrar al-Sham and Jaysh al-Islam groups acting in Syria as terrorist ones was not discussed during U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry's recent visit to Moscow, a Russian Foreign Ministry source told Interfax on Wednesday.
"This issue was not raised," the source said.
Kerry had earlier named Ahrar al-Sham and Jaysh al-Islam as subgroups of ISIL and Jabhat al-Nusra, terrorist groups banned in Russia.
The U.S. Department of State later said in commenting Kerry's remarks that Washington's position regarding these two groups had not changed.
