Russian Security Council discusses counterterrorism in light of recent terrorist attacks in Europe, CIS
MOSCOW. July 25 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Security Council discussed counterterrorism issues in the wake of the events in Kazakhstan, Armenia, France, Turkey and Germany, the Security Council press service told Interfax.
"The events that occurred in the past few days in Kazakhstan and Armenia, namely, in Almaty and Yerevan, and also the events that took place in Turkey, France and Germany were not left without the attention of Russian Security Council experts," the press service said.
The Security Council has an interdepartmental commission on CIS affairs, a section of the scientific council on global issues and international security, the press service said.
Counterterrorism issues are also discussed in meetings of the section of the national council on issues relating to the neutralization of internal national security threats.
"The issue of counterterrorism is also included in the agenda of bilateral and multilateral meetings on regional stability and international security issues," the Security Council said.
