French parliamentarians to visit Crimea this week
SIMFEROPOL. July 25 (Interfax) - A delegation of the French National Assembly and Senate will visit Crimea on July 29-31 and will take part in the celebration of the Day of the Russian Navy in Sevastopol, the press center for the republic's State Council said on Monday.
A delegation of French parliamentarians led by Thierry Mariani will visit the memorial complex Krasny Concentration Camp and will meet with Crimean to officials on Friday.
On Saturday, the delegation will visit a memorial at the French military cemetery, will meet with Sevastopol Governor Sergey Menyaylo and officials from the culture center Alliance Francaise, and will have an excursion to the wine factory Massandra, the press service said.
On Sunday, members of the delegation will take part in the celebration of the Day of the Russian Navy in Sevastopol.
The French parliament in April 2016 approved a resolution on lifting the sanctions against Russia imposed after the joining of Crimea. The initiator of the adoption of that document was Thierry Mariani, who visited Crimea in the summer of 2015.
