Twenty-four people injured in blast at Azerbaijan's defense factory - Ministry of Health

BAKU. July 26 (Interfax) - Ten people injured in the blast at a plant controlled by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defense Industry have been receiving medical treatment at the central hospital of the Azerbaijani city of Shirvan, the Ministry of Health press service told Interfax.

"In total, 24 people have been injured in the blast, including 14 people that have received outpatient care and checked out. Ten people are in inpatient treatment," the ministry said.

Three people remain in critical condition. Another seven people who received minor injuries in the blast are undergoing inpatient treatment at the hospital, it said.

An explosion occurred at the plant of Araz at 3:35 on Tuesday, Baku time. Causes behind the incident are currently being investigated. Azerbaijani President Aliyev has ordered to set up a state commission to establish causes and mitigate consequences of the blast.
