Seven people injured in defense plant blast in Azerbaijan remain in hospital

BAKU. July 27 (Interfax) - Three people injured in an explosion at a defense plant in Azerbaijan will be discharged from hospital on Wednesday, the Azerbaijani Healthcare Ministry's press service chief Liya Bayramova told Interfax.

"Seven people injured in the explosion remain in hospital in the city of Shirvan at the moment. Three of them will be discharged shortly. The remaining four will receive hospital treatment under medical supervision," she said.

"Another injured individual was transferred to the institute of traumatology in Baku. He is in a stable condition," she said.

An explosion occurred at the plant of Araz at 3:35 p.m., Baku time, on Tuesday. Azerbaijani President Aliyev ordered the setting up of a state commission to establish causes and mitigate consequences of the blast on Tuesday. Two people were killed in the incident, 24 were injured, and 16 of them were discharged after receiving paramedical care.

A criminal case under two articles was opened into the explosion.
