New legal foundation of Armenia-EU relations being laid in accordance with Armenian commitments to EAEU - Economy Ministry
YEREVAN. July 27 (Interfax) - Negotiations on the subject of a new legal foundation of Armenia-EU relations continue as planned, Armenian First Deputy Economy Minister Garegin Melkonyan said.
"Visits are exchanged and videoconferences are held several times a month to negotiate trade and investments among other issues. Another two rounds of negotiations are due to be held before the end of this year," Melkonyan told reporters on Tuesday.
There are no pressing issues, which "may constitute a problem at the negotiations," he said.
"Some parts of the text have been coordinated, and others are in the process of working debates. Armenia has prepared a document with the European Union before, and preparation of the new document is going faster. On the other hand, all norms and conditions we are now discussing have to be reconciled with Armenia's commitments to the Eurasian Economic Union [EAEU]," Melkonyan said.
